Software Tech Talk Survey Results

A while back I sent around the Winter Software Tech Talk survey.  It’s simmered long enough that I don’t expect much more feedback (but the survey is still open, so it’s not too late to chime in).  I’ll be setting up some meetups based on this data next week, but in the meantime I thought I’d follow up on my promise to make the results available.

Here are the results so far.   It’s a bit difficult to do much summarizing due to the relatively small number of responses. The executive summary looks like this:

  • 15 responses so far … many of which from people willing to help host/present, which is encouraging
  • Ruby/Rails development is the only subject that garnered interest from more than two people
  • There are plenty of other interesting topics already however – iPhone development, social collaboration networks, cloud computing, and javascript development, to name a few.
  • Best time for people to meet is mid-week, 5-7pm
  • The folks over at G5 have volunteered the Old Cigar Building as a venue for this (Thanks, Chris)

Feel free to comment here if any of the topics people mention in the survey results seem particularly interesting to you.

P.S.  A 10-second review of PollDaddy.com: I used PollDaddy.com for this survey – a great, “freemium” service that worked really well, except there’s no good way to publically share the results of your surveys.  Hence, the Google spreadsheet above, which was a hassle to generate. Grr.
