Tech Job Listings, Now on BendTech

We now have a Jobs Page that lists tech jobs currently available in Central Oregon.  (We also have a “Recent Jobs” section of the sidebar that lists the most recent of these.)

Note that this is not a full-featured jobs service that we maintain.  Rather, we simply aggregate listings from various sections of bend.craigslist.org.  So if you have a job opening you’d like to see listed here, simply post it in one the Craigslist sections mentioned at the top of the Jobs page (Update: Or include the word “BendTech” anywhere in the description).

We’ve taken this approach rather than maintaining a jobs board of our own for a few reasons.  The primary being that it avoids the hassle of introducing yet-another job listing service that employers and job hunters have to deal with; Craigslist continues to be the canonical source of job listings for our area.  Also, while we’re hoping this is a little easier for job hunters to peruse – Craigslist requiring a lot more clicking around to get to this information – hopefully this will prove a convenient way for the rest of you to keep an eye on the pulse of Central Oregon’s tech job market.  And, of course, since this is all automated, it doesn’t require much work from us… which is pretty much the real reason we did it this way. ;-)

So, ‘hope you find it useful.

(P.S.  For you feed reader-ers here’s the jobs RSS feed.)

What do you think about adding non-tech jobs in tech companies?

  2. @Cameron: Interesting suggestion. Did you have specific positions/companies in mind?

I’ve tweaked our jobs page so that any job containing “BendTech” in the description will be included as well. I know that’s less than ideal, but I’m not sure how else to achieve what you’re suggesting. ‘Would love to hear ideas people have on how else to improve this.

No specific companies, but jobs could include anything that the non-technical (and even some of the technical) members of Bend Tech might be interested in. Such as: business development, marketing, sales, sales engineer, strategy, and even C-level positions.
