About
BendTech is a loose amalgamation of technology professionals and enthusiasts in Central Oregon brought together by a common desire to network, self-educate, and just generally create a more vibrant local tech community and industry.
In practical terms, this takes the form of a variety of projects spear-headed by various members:
- TechSpaceBend – A co-working facility in the heart of downtown Bend. Workdesks, offices, a screaming-fast net connection, and like-minded peers all packed into 1,500 square-feet of comfy loft/cafe style office space. Check it out! Organized/managed by Lewis Howell and Robert Kieffer.
- Book Club – A “book club” (in quotes) with a more open approach to thinking about the medium through which we focus our discussion. We do focus on actual books but use online videos, and looser sets of ideas to focus discussion. Organized by Steve Buss.
- Talks – An ongoing monthly(ish) series of talks featuring experts from our local community. Organized by Robert Kieffer
- Startup Workshop – A workshop, as moderated by Bend Tech members, is like a writer’s group for entrepreneurs, where you can get together on a regular basis to present and refine your business plans, elevator pitches, and business models, as well as to peer-coach one another on the same subjects. Organized by Cameron Powell.
- WoTech – A monthly lunch for women (and men, too) where the conversation could change from Perl to purl, or from business intelligence to baking, at any moment. Organized by Jen Floyd.
